Gabe

Gabe is a very sweet 5 year old black male Standard Poodle.  He has been neutered and is current on his shots.  Gabe only weighed 45 lbs. when he came in to rescue.  He should weigh 60 lbs.  There is nothing wrong with his appetite.  He has gained 3 lbs. in a week and a half.  He has been de-wormed for intestinal parasites.  Whoever was responsible for his care, just was not feeding him.  Unfortunately, Gabe has tested positive for heartworms.  He has been started on the slow-kill method to rid him of the heartworms.  He walks politely on a leash and is housebroken and crate-trained.  He gets along very well with other dogs and will make a wonderful pet !
